NEET UG 2024 Verdict: Supreme Court to Rule on Paper Cancellation Petition Today

In a pivotal hearing today, the Supreme Court will address the petition seeking the cancellation of NEET UG 2024 results. Judges Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta are set to preside over the highly anticipated case that could significantly impact medical aspirants across the country.

The petition, filed by advocates Abdullah Mohammed Faiz and Dr. Shaik Roshan Mohiddin from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, calls for the recall of NEET-UG 2024 results, citing multiple discrepancies. The petitioners allege irregularities in the allocation of grace marks and challenge the statistical feasibility of the exceptionally high scores reported.

Key concerns highlighted in the plea include a lack of transparency in the grace marks allocation process and inconsistencies in the provisional answer key. These issues have sparked widespread concern among students and educators, prompting calls for a review to uphold the principles of meritocracy and fairness in the medical entrance exam system.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting NEET-UG, faces serious allegations including question paper leaks and mark inflation. While the NTA has denied any misconduct, the petitioners emphasize the necessity of a thorough investigation to maintain the integrity of the examination process.

As the Supreme Court convenes to deliberate on this critical issue, the outcome could reshape the future of NEET-UG and reaffirm the standards of transparency and fairness in one of India's most competitive examinations.
